Sheila Arndt, aka LuminousHumidityNola, is a writer and visual artists living and working in New Orleans, Louisiana. Sheila has an MFA in fiction and is working on her first novel. She also teaches an online writing class for Johns Hopkins CTY.

As Luminous Humidity NOLA, Sheila makes jewelry, mostly earrings, out of bones ranging from coyote to raccoon. She’ll happily take commissions. She also creates headpieces for festival/parade seasons and has been working on her first photography collection, available as prints, focusing on finding the beauty and resilience in time and decay.

She enjoys working as a bartender at a beautiful restaurant in New Orleans as well. Come by say hi and please support the arts!!!

Pleasurable Pursuits: Frank O'Hara, Pablo Neruda, Gabriel Garcia Marquez, garlic, dogs, cassoulet, coq au vin, New Orleans, Paris, searching for the middle of nowhere, freshwater, saltwater, the beauty of language, the ways in which the writing of letters--pen to paper with reader in mind--compresses time and space, flowers "blooming most recklessly."
